PatraPindaSveda or ElaKizhiis a common and very famous form of Svedana in which the medicaments are tied up in a cloth and used for the therapy. In PatraPindaSveda, leaves of medicinal plants and other drugs are tied up in the cloth and applied to the body while frequently heating it. Leaves of medicinal plants having analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties are the important ingredient of the procedure.
PatraPindaSveda is highly effective in the management of pain. It pacifies the morbidity of Vata, Pitta and Kapha in the affected joints, muscles and soft tissues, causes sweating and brings about lightness and a feeling of health in the affected joints, muscles and soft tissues.
